Multiple Award Winners celebrate 120 years in the building industry.

 J. Layzell and Sons was founded in 1895 by Jeremiah Layzell who was a joiner and wheelwright

The present partnership led by managing director Harvey Layzell is the fourth generation committed to the repair and conservation of historic buildings.

Based in Horton Ilminster, Layzell’s excel in delivering traditional craftmanship to bespoke high specifications.

Harvey Layzell says ‘This year we have enjoyed converting Broadway Hill Methodist Church which we were excited to discover my great grandfather worked on, it’s fun when things come full circle.’

‘Our village itself is part of our legacy, our street alone boasts houses by each generation, from my own house completed in 1996 to the church just up the road, which my great grandfather built in 1899.’

‘Currently, employing 20 staff, skills are handed down from generation to generation ensuring we are known locally for our unrivalled standard of craftsmanship and attention to detail.’
